Clients retain ownership of the original content they provide, including their business name, written content, logos, photographs, videos, and other materials they have the legal right to use.
After the project is paid in full, the client receives the ownership and usage rights described in the approved project proposal. Third-party software, licensed materials, integrations, hosting services, and development tools remain subject to their respective licenses and terms.
Shark Web Designs Co recommends keeping the website within our managed website environment so we can continue publishing, updating, maintaining, and supporting it.
Upon request, after all outstanding invoices are paid, available project ownership may be transferred into a compatible client-owned account, or the website's available source code may be provided through an approved source-code repository.
The availability and format of a project handoff depend on the website's structure, integrations, database, third-party services, and technical requirements.
A source-code handoff is not the same as converting the website into another drag-and-drop website builder.
Websites cannot automatically be converted into unrelated platforms such as Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy Website Builder, Webflow, or other drag-and-drop systems. Recreating the website in another builder would require a separate rebuild and is not included as a standard project transfer.
Moving a website to another hosting provider or development environment may require account setup, configuration changes, database changes, integration changes, or assistance from another qualified developer. Any migration assistance must be reviewed and quoted separately.
Ongoing Shark Web Designs Co support is not guaranteed after a website leaves our managed environment. Support may be limited or declined when the new environment is incompatible, inaccessible, unfamiliar, modified by another provider, or outside the services Shark Web Designs Co supports.
Domains, business email accounts, payment-processing accounts, databases, and important third-party subscriptions should remain in the client's name whenever practical.
